The Finest Materials.
9017 pumps have won countless Winston Cup, Late Model, USAC and
World Of Outlaws Championships. Lightweight, efficient, tried and
true, Barnes 9017 Series are lighter, and smoother-running
than comparable pumps.

WHY 9017 PUMPS ARE SUPERIOR!
To improve bearing surface against drive gear and idler shaft, we
use only the finest materials: Bronze idler gears, precision ground
stainless steel studs and pinned idler shafts, & heat-treated
chrome moly driveshafts.
All aluminum parts machined from 7075 T-6 billet. We do not use extrusions.
The smoothest and most efficient pumps youll find. T-slots,
machined into endplates to release trapped oil that can cause gears
to separate.
Iron pressure housings available on request. Aluminum pressure housings
expand with temperature, changing the gear-to-housing clearance.
Larger internal cross port. Spur gears with wider centerline distance,
larger O.D. and larger cavity...to carry a larger volume of oil.
Gear housings are machined and fitted with O-rings to maintain correct
gear end clearance and simplify assembly and disassembly.
Ball bearing in the center of the pump supports the driveshaft. The
idler shaft is supported in bore of separator plate. No needle bearings
are used.
Special woodruff key slots in driveshafts are machined with a full
radius to prevent cracking around the keyseats. |
